In the past few weeks Adkins Speed Center drivers have competed at some of the largest events in North America with great success. The season is almost over with only two major events left, the SKUSA SuperNationals and PRI Show.
Tony Loniewski and Chris Larson teamed up for the RoboPong 200 with the FirstKart.com race team. Both drivers have been some of the top 100cc drivers in the North America for many years scoring numerous wins and championships in the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup and Stars of Karting Championship.
The duo had nearly a perfect weekend, which started off with pole position. Chris Larson started the race and took the lead at the start. Putting down some of the fastest laps of the race and faster than their pole time; Chris pulled out a massive lead. Both drivers never missed a beat and led nearly every lap but the ones when in the pits. This race showed the outright speed of Adkins Speed Center engines and the reliability.
The Stars of Karting Finale took place in Las Vegas last weekend. Some of the standout performances include Nic Johnsrud’s third heat race win and his second place finish in Final 2 along with the fastest lap. This is only Nic’s first season in Stars, which has seen great success with his Merlin Chassis. Adam Johnson aboard a Top Kart finished sixth in Final one after a difficult weekend. Brandon Adkins with MRP and Zach Beard of FirstKart.com also had strong top ten results.
Long time Adkins Speed Center driver Barry Hatcher secured his TaG Senior Championship in the SKUSA Great Lakes Pro Tour with a great run of podium finishes and a win at Concept Haulers Speedway earlier in the year.
